Science and mathematics education are at a pivotal moment in the Philippines, where the need to bridge classroom learning with real-world context has never been greater. As the global landscape rapidly evolves with technological advancements and complex societal challenges, it is essential for science and mathematics education to remain relevant, inclusive, and impactful. This year’s Conference centres on the theme of “Community Engagement and Partnerships in STEM Education: Strengthening Impact and Relevance” to address these pressing needs.
By focusing on community engagement and partnerships, this year’s Conference seeks to empower the next generation of science and mathematics education researchers to design, implement, and evaluate programs that are not only academically rigorous but also socially relevant and transformative. Strengthening these connections will ensure that science and mathematics education remains a dynamic force for innovation, equity, and community well-being.

The National Consortium in Graduate Science and Mathematics Education (NCGSME) is a consortium of sixteen (16) universities in the Philippines that collaborates with the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI), specifically aiming to:

- improve the quality of science and mathematics education in the country; and
- accelerate the development of critical mass of experts in science and mathematics education.

- Cebu Normal University (CNU)
- De La Salle University (DLSU)
- Leyte Normal University (LNU)
- Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU)
- Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT)
- Mindanao State University - Marawi (MSU - Marawi)
- Philippine Normal University (PNU)
- St. Mary's University (SMU)
- University of the Philippines College of Education (UPCEd)
- University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU)
- University of San Carlos (USC)
- Western Mindanao State University (WMSU)
- West Visayas State University (WVSU)
In cooperation with the NCGSME, the Capacity Building Program in Science and Mathematics Education (CBPSME) scholarships are offered by DOST-SEI for the pursuit of Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Science and Mathematics Education available to DOST-SEI scholar-graduates, graduate students with academic honors, and qualified science and mathematics faculty of Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) and consortium member-universities.
